Steff’s wedding update…

If you remember back in January, I wrote about being the maid of honor in my friend Steff’s wedding in August and helping her out in her wedding planning and decorating journey.  Well a few weekends ago there was lots of bride related festivities – one of them being her bachelorette party.

Now my friend Steff is a unique and lovely person.  She is more about the experience and creating amazing memories.  So we did something really different for her bachelorette party.  She (along with most of us…) has a Pinterest “problem”.  I came up with the idea of taking everything she loves and “Pinteresting” the hell out of it.

So I took all of Steff’s favorite things and we celebrated her bachelorette in her backyard (it was a surprise!)  I created a dinner space, a regular bar with themed drinks (of course they had little name cards – remember things we see on Pinterest!) and s’mores dessert bar. (These are some of Steff’s favorite things…) My dear friend Sharon’s husband came up with an amazing playlist of music.  Because we were celebrating with themed cocktails, we pitched tents in Steff’s backyard and went camping! (That what no one had to drink and drive…we are a responsible bunch after all!)  Steff loves her friends, camping, lobster, s’mores, good cocktails and great music.  We had an amazing night – there was lots of laughter and great memories were created.  Steff loved every minute of it!

What's a backyard shin dig without some refreshing cocktails! We named all of the drinks after things associated with Steff.

For our dinner portion of the evening, I created an area that focused just on our meal. It was really cozy and quite magical under the stars.

Remember this was all things Pinterest, so the smallest of details were very important.

For dinner we had a traditional New England Clambake (one of Steff's favorite dinners!) I had a local seafood restaurant do the catering for us, for those that did not enjoy clams and lobster, they dined on BBQ chicken. Steff's mom Sandy and my Mom, Marci played a big role in keeping Steff out of her house for the day. They took Steff shopping for her white outfit (we all wore white in honor of her upcoming wedding!). Steff's fiancé Ken was in on the whole gig!
